The event went off smoothly, special thanks to Swapna, Shreenivas, Sai, Pavan and Yogesh for all the crucial facilitation and support. The students communicated to us in person that they benefitted from the visit, as well as enjoyed the science and tech talks and interactive session; indeed they said that they would like to visit us again! On our part, we assured them that we shall be very happy to have such an opportunity in the near future.
There were 30 students accompanied by 2 teachers. Female:Male ratio was 1:1! (list uploaded-see below)
Our HoD couldn't join us, sadly, as he had to deal with some urgent short-notice matters on the day. However, we could utilise that gap fruitfully, without any glitch. There were some shuffling of talks to accommodate times, but we could conduct all the planned talks as outlined in the flyer!
We are especially grateful to the Transport person, Mr Ashok Chavan, the D-Mess manager Mr. Sandesh and his team, and the Cafetaria manager Mr. Mulayam and his team for their amazing punctuality and generous co-operation that helped us execute the agenda in a timely and smooth manner.
We thank the MES Science College Teacher Ms. Medha Prabhu, and the College Headmaster for facilitating the visit; Ms Priyanka Chodankar (biology) and Ms. Akshaya Raikar (Physics) for accompanying the students for the visit and sitting through all the sessions diligently.
Last not least, this outreach event, a humble effort to disseminate academic research in science and technology to 'Budding Minds', was carried out as a part of our scientific social responsibility, generously funded by the Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB) under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of the Govt. of India. I, BSB (project PI), on behalf of my team, thoroughly enjoyed planning, organising, and conducting the event, not to mention communicating with the young, curious minds. This visit was the first of its kind @ BITS Pilani Goa Campus, CSIS Deptt.
